LEECHERS – Possibly the dumbest people on the planet
Are you one of those people that have every song from
your era downloaded into your computer? Maybe you have every movie, or every piece of
software ever invented on your hard drive. Or maybe you only download the good stuff-the
selected stuff. Or maybe you
downloaded a movie and decided to sell it for $5 that can be bought for $1
at the local Circle K store. Being a leech or leecher refers to the practice of
benefiting, usually deliberately, from others' information or effort but not
offering anything in return. In
other words a leecher is a thief.
A leecher believes they can download music, games,
books, movies, applications and it
will work perfectly every time without viruses or bad code and then expect
their computers to be fixed for $20 because they don’t know how that happen
to them. The name derives from the leech, an animal which
sucks blood and then tries to leave unnoticed.
Because there is a large group of people that believe the internet
and all its components should be free.
Peer-to-peer sites are everywhere.
But in reality they are making money off of the leecher by bombarding
them with advertisement. The
Advertiser pays them 1 to 60 thousand dollars a month until their products
get leeched. Lechers are responsible for putting 100’s of
thousands of people out of work and led some to suicide.
How can a band make money if one person buys the cd and 500,000
simply leech it? How can a
movie costing 80 million make any money if it only makes 34 million in its
life time? The same happens
with books, games, and applications. Some, not all, musicians, coders and film makers are
putting viruses, and logging info into their products on the internet.
Not to mention the everyday computer cracker stealing your identity
from your favorite song. Here is the dumbest thing that leeches do.
When they can’t get a stolen application or movie to work, they give
out their email address, phone number while asking for help.
Millions of people are on these sites including the companies they
are stealing from- and yes, it’s a crime.
